/ see-RAH / · Also known as Shiraz
Dark fruit and black pepper — savoury in France, lush as Australian Shiraz.
Syrah makes deeply coloured, full-bodied reds with a signature twist of black pepper. In the Northern Rhône it is savoury, smoky and peppery; as Shiraz in warm Australian regions it turns ripe, rich and chocolatey. It's also a key partner in Southern Rhône ‘GSM’ blends.
