/ ta-NAHT / · Also known as Harriague
The most tannic grape of all — dark, dense and powerful.
True to its name, Tannat has some of the highest tannin levels of any grape. In Madiran in south-west France it makes powerful, long-lived reds. In Uruguay, where it's the national grape, a warmer climate gives rounder, juicier versions.
