Red grape 🇫🇷 Beaujolais, France

Gamay

/ ga-MAY / · Also known as Gamay Noir

Light, juicy and joyful — the red you can serve lightly chilled.

Gamay is the grape of Beaujolais. Often made using carbonic maceration, it gives bright, fruity reds with very soft tannins. Beyond the famous Nouveau, the ten Beaujolais Crus — like Morgon, Fleurie and Moulin-à-Vent — make serious wines that can age beautifully.
