Argentina's aromatic white — smells sweet of roses and peach, tastes dry and fresh.
Torrontés is Argentina's signature white, a natural crossing of Muscat of Alexandria and a local grape. The best come from the Calchaquí Valleys around Cafayate, where vineyards sit at up to 3,000 metres. It's intensely floral on the nose — almost like Muscat — but usually dry and refreshing on the palate.
