White grape 🇫🇷 Northern Rhône, France

Roussanne

/ roo-SAN / · Also known as Bergeron

Rich and textured — pear, honeysuckle and herbal tea.

Roussanne is named for the russet colour of its ripe berries. Usually blended with Marsanne in the Northern Rhône and with other grapes in white Châteauneuf-du-Pape, it adds perfume, acidity and elegance to full-bodied whites that age into honeyed, nutty complexity.
