White grape 🇩🇪 Freiburg, Germany

Solaris

/ so-LAH-ris / · Also known as FR 240-75

The Nordic white — fresh, fruity and made for cool climates.

Solaris was bred in Freiburg in 1975 to thrive where classic grapes struggle. It ripens very early, builds high sugar levels and resists fungal disease, making it ideal for organic growing in the north. It is the most planted grape in Denmark and makes everything from crisp dry whites to sweet and sparkling wines.
