White grape 🇮🇹 Piedmont, Italy

Cortese

/ kor-TAY-zeh /

The grape behind Gavi — crisp lime, almond and a clean, mineral finish.

Cortese is best known as the grape of Gavi, in south-east Piedmont near the Ligurian coast. It keeps its acidity well and makes light, dry, elegant whites with citrus, subtle almond and a mineral finish — a natural match for the seafood and pesto of nearby Liguria.
