Southern Italy's sunny red — ripe dark fruit with an earthy, bittersweet finish.
Negroamaro — ‘black and bitter’ — is the signature grape of the Salento peninsula in Italy's heel. It gives dark, warming reds with ripe plum fruit and an earthy, slightly bitter finish, often softened with a little Malvasia Nera. It also makes some of southern Italy's best rosato.
