Pinot Gris

/ PEE-noh GREE / · Also known as Pinot Grigio, Grauburgunder, Ruländer, Szürkebarát

Crisp as Pinot Grigio, rich and spicy as Pinot Gris — same grape, two moods.

Pinot Gris is a pink-skinned mutation of Pinot Noir. Picked early in northern Italy, it becomes light, crisp Pinot Grigio. Left to ripen fully in Alsace, it gives rich, textured, often off-dry wines with notes of ripe peach, honey and spice.
