White grape 🇦🇹 Austria

Silvaner

/ sil-VAH-ner / · Also known as Sylvaner, Grüner Silvaner

Quietly brilliant — green apple, herbs and a mineral finish.

Silvaner is a natural crossing of Traminer and an old Austrian grape, but it made its name in Germany. In Franken, bottled in the traditional flat, round ‘Bocksbeutel’, it shows its best side: dry, earthy and mineral, with subtle fruit that lets food shine. It's the classic German partner for white asparagus.
