Penedès & Cava

Also known as Cava, Corpinnat

Catalonia's sparkling capital — traditional-method bubbles at a fraction of Champagne's price.

Most Cava is made in Penedès, south of Barcelona, using the same method as Champagne but with local grapes Macabeo (Viura), Xarel·lo and Parellada. Top estates now label as Corpinnat or Clàssic Penedès, with longer ageing and organic farming.

“Cava is made exactly like Champagne, just with Spanish grapes — so you get the same toasty bubbles at a much friendlier price.”
