White grape 🇭🇺 Tokaj, Hungary

Furmint

/ FOOR-mint / · Also known as Šipon, Mosler

Hungary's noble grape — electric acidity, smoky minerality and pear.

Furmint is the main grape of Tokaj, home of the legendary sweet Tokaji Aszú made from botrytised grapes. Its high acidity keeps those sweet wines vibrant for decades. Increasingly, Furmint is also made dry: taut, smoky and mineral, with pear and quince fruit.
